Skate border, Snow border, Beach Boy! Dsquared2 Spring Symphony 2016.

Story and photos by Andrew Mathis

While layers upon layers of clothing and outerwear covered large areas of the models bodies, a full-on audience reveal of was saved for the finale. In what could only be called a sexy slight of hand trick, the models in the Spring 2016 Dsquared2 show were encased in tattoo-print body suits. To end the show a bevy of male beauties paraded down the runway wearing only the spectacular tattoo body suits. It made for a dramatic show ending, that seemed silent after watching a show so completely charged with imagination, high heat masculinity, and a cacophony of brilliant styling. Athletic wear, board shorts, skate wear, shorts, and outwear all seemed to be bent into something new. Super slim calf hugging jeans and wide over-baggy jeans shared the runway with jackets, shirts, and layered shorts of all kinds.

The collection was super masculine and the clothing gave sporter-skater-beach boy archetypes a full Las Vegas treatment. There are so many standout pieces from painted and bedazzled tank tops to the black athletic pants worn under shorts. It was layers upon layers of greatness this season from Dean and Dan. The denim was shown in an array of new and exciting finished and bleach treatments that will be the signature pieces from the collection.

The collection is styled to work together, and there is even a bit of functionality woven into the collection. A functionality that will serve those that choose to buy a select piece or two – and there are many great choices in this collection. The tattoo body suits made an almost tribal statement – you can see the show and the brilliant finale in the video below.
